Accent Realty Group Announces Results of Website Study
Survey results for a study to determine what prospective homebuyers look for in a real estate website. Are they aware of the real estate agency relationships that exist in a home purchase transaction? What do they expect to see when visiting a website?
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) June 6, 2007 -- Accent Realty Group has announced the results of a 45-day information gathering survey. The purpose of the survey was to determine the needs and preferences of home buyers searching the Internet when relocating to Nashville, Tennessee.
In an interview with Pam Rumley, broker/owner of Accent Realty Group, she explains why they decided to conduct the study. "Since anyone can do their own MLS search from any real estate website, we wanted to conduct the survey to learn what information we can provide that will be most helpful for newcomers to the area."
She went on to say, "Another reason for the survey was to determine if homebuyers were familiar with the real estate agency relationship that exists between clients and real estate agents."
The results of the study, surprisingly, showed that most prospective homebuyers are not familiar with terms such as "dual agent" or "facilitator". The study indicated that most agents are not educating their clients well in this important legal area, because well over 50% of the responses indicated that they had no idea that there were different kinds of Realtors. People are apparently not aware of the conflict of interest that exists in many real estate transactions.
Sadly, many did not know the difference between a buyers agent and a sellers agent, nor their respective duties.
Most of the respondents indicated the following when asked about the most important things they wanted to find on a website:
* Traffic and Distance to major highways
* Medical Information
* Location of Hospitals
* Commuting time to work
* Moving tips
* Home Buying tips
* More photos of homes
* Community Information
* Area Shopping
* School Information
The survey also indicated that homebuyers do not want a lot of contact with a Realtor (or Realtors) until they are ready to buy…and then they want to initiate the relationship. Almost all wanted communication by e-mail as opposed to telephone conversations.
When participants were asked what they considered critical information to have on a real estate website:
* Search for Homes - 85.7%
* Local School Information - 42.9%
* Local Demographics - 41.3%
* Local Crime Rates - 57.1%
* Local Tax Information - 28.6%
* Sex Offender Registry Information - 14.3%
Pam Rumley's comprehensive website, www.NashvilleRealEstateAuthority.com is known for its in-depth information about the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area. One great feature is their new money-saving "Bundle Package", which saves the homebuyer hundreds of dollars when buying their new Nashville home.
Accent Realty Group is an Exclusive Buyer Agency firm, affiliated with the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents (NAEBA). They never take listings and therefore have no possible conflict of interest in a home purchase transaction. True buyers agents (ones that do not take listings) are very few in number. Due to the conflict of interest that exists in most real estate transactions, numerous leading magazine articles advise people to try to find one of these agents to represent them in their home purchases.
