Where Is My God Taking Me?

My God, Where are you taking me?
What exactly do you plan?
I have great faith that you’re working
To make me into a Christ-like man.
Give me the proper priorities.
Help me to keep Jesus number one.
I thank you for His life and example.
You and I both are proud of your special Son.
Help me to examine each day carefully.
Never let books, looks, trends, machines or fashion
Allow me to forget to be a friend to other people
Or show them your compassion.
Lord, grant me a sense of potential.
Help me to see what I can become.
Remind me that no pain or bad experience
Makes your work grow numb.
Give me the proper perspective.
Help me to accept your work in my life.
Channel inside of me great faith, love and power.
Give me strength to conquer all of my inner strife.
Give me the eyes to see your perfect purpose.
Help me to not just chase the beautiful people I see.
I cannot control my dealings with people.
I must be open for the relationships you have planned for me.
Remind me to spend time with you.
I need more discipline for prayer and Bible reading.
Jesus spent time in prayer with you.
This gave Him the confidence to let you do the leading.
I do not control my own life’s ship.
If I did, I’d soon be a castaway.
Lord, I give you the wheel.
Use your will in steering me today!
